Football Recap: Pioneer Panthers vs. Taylor Titans
Pioneer and Taylor squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Pioneer had to settle for second. They came up short against the Taylor Titans, falling 28-6. Having soared to a lofty 49 points in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.
It was another big night for Javionne Harris, who rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 32 yards and a touchdown for Taylor. Harris got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 94 yards.
Pioneer's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Taylor, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.
Pioneer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Taylor, they will face off against North Judson-San Pierre at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Judson-San Pierre knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Taylor likes a good challenge.
