Football Recap: Delone Catholic Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Delone Catholic had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Susquehannock Warriors by a score of 10-7. While the Squires didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 7-0 in the first quarter.

Delone Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colin Redding, who rushed for 130 yards on only seven carries. Redding's longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Trevor Odegaard was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 75 yards and one score on only six carries. Those 75 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delone Catholic will head out to take on Lancaster Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Susquehannock, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Littlestown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
