Football Recap: New Brockton Starts off Right with Win over Pike Liberal Arts

New Brockton took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They took down the Pike Liberal Arts Patriots 24-7. This was payback for the Gamecocks, who suffered a 35-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

A big part of New Brockton's win came down to the chemistry between Wesley Creel and his top target Anthony Silar. Creel threw for 213 yards and two TDs on only 13 passes while Silar gained 226 total yards and three touchdowns. Silar really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 77 yards.

New Brockton's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Peyton Collins was especially locked on to Pike Liberal Arts' QB and sacked him twice.

Coming up, New Brockton will be playing in front of their home fans against Slocomb at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pike Liberal Arts, they are taking a road trip to take on Samson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
