Oxnard won the last time they faced Channel Islands and things went their way on Saturday too. Oxnard walked away with a 3-1 victory over Channel Islands. The win was some much needed relief for the Yellowjackets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Oxnard had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 25-13, 25-11.

Caiden Aguilar paced Oxnard's offense, picking up 14 kills. Aguilar got some help from JP Mawas and his 31 assists. Finally, Aguilar was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Oxnard's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Channel Islands, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Oxnard has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Canyon on the 22nd. As for Channel Islands, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Rio Mesa on the 22nd.
