Soccer Game Preview: Phoenix Military vs. Chicago Academy

The Phoenix Military Firebirds will head out on the road to challenge the Chicago Academy Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Phoenix Military will be strutting in after a victory while Chicago Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Phoenix Military is coming into the match on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Prosser on Monday.

America Carreon and Denise Mata scored all three of Phoenix Military's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Chicago Academy was not quite Northside's equal in the second half on Monday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 1-0. Chicago Academy have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chicago Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Phoenix Military, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.

Phoenix Military might still be hurting after the 7-2 loss they got from Chicago Academy when the teams last played last Monday. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Firebirds were down 6-2.
