Basketball Recap: Mathews Comes Up Short

Mathews lost against Colonial Beach back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mathews Blue Devils took a blow against the Colonial Beach Drifters, falling 50-17. The game marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Mathews and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Colonial Beach, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Mathews will take on King William in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Colonial Beach and King George will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Colonial Beach is facing King George at the right time seeing as King George is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
