Recap: Hendersonville Commandos vs. Stewarts Creek Red Hawks
The Hendersonville Commandos were the 48-44 winner over the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Hendersonville took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stewarts Creek on Friday. Hendersonville has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Camden Ward was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds for Stewarts Creek. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ward has scored at least 25% of Stewarts Creek's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Wilder, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Hendersonville's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Stewarts Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hendersonville will take on Green Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Hill is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Stewarts Creek will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th.
