Softball Recap: Glenbard North Sets Scoring Season-High Against Geneva

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glenbard North). Everything went their way against the Geneva Vikings on Tuesday as they made off with a 20-4 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Gina Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Glenbard North got a massive performance out of Tru Medina, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Aubry Miller, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Glenbard North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Glenbard North's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Geneva, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Glenbard North wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Wheaton North on the 30th. As for Geneva, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-0 loss against St. Charles East on the 30th.
