Volleyball Recap: Porter-Gaud Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Porter-Gaud had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They blew past the Ashley Hall Panthers 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on September 9th.

Porter-Gaud never let Ashley Hall on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-19, 25-22.

Allie Abernathy paced Porter-Gaud's offense, picking up 18 kills. Abernathy got some help from Harriett Matenaer and her 21 assists. Matenaer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Porter-Gaud's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Ashley Hall, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Porter-Gaud will head out to square off against Charleston Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ashley Hall, they will venture away from home to face off against First Baptist School at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
