League recap: Jenkins' hitting boosts Baldwyn

2A Region 1 league recap: 4/3/13

Tucker Jenkins was on fire this week, as he led 2A Region 1 with a .600 average, one home run and six RBIs. Baldwyn went 3-1.

Bishop Davis was the top pitcher in the league this week, leading the Bearcats. Over the past week, he had one win and eight Ks.

Hamilton continues to keep batters at bay this week, surrendering only seven hits in the past week, good for best in the league. For the entire year, the Lions have given up only 43 base hits in 11 games.

Eight batters hit over .400 this week. The group was paced by Daniel Rowland, who collected three hits in three at bats for a 1.000 average.

Tyler Hutcheson drove in four runners as East Union defeated Okolona 18-0 on Friday. He went 1-for-1 and scored one run.



Hamilton's Austin Bishop struck out nine the Chieftains hitters en route to a 21-1 victory on March 28. He gave up two hits and one run over four innings of work.
