Softball Recap: Pisgah Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pisgah entered their tilt with Purvis on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Purvis Tornadoes.

Alyssa McMurtrey made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. McMurtrey was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Pisgah let Brooke Cooper and Madysen Washington run wild. Cooper scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Washington went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Holeman, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Pisgah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Pisgah's record now sits at 3-1. As for Purvis, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Pisgah has already played their next contest, a 13-0 win against Richton on the 22nd. As for Purvis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-2 defeat against Hancock on the 22nd.
