Durham Academy fought the good fight in their overtime game against Providence Day on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 71-61 to the Chargers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Cavaliers still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Durham Academy got top-tier performance from Josh Dorsette, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 23 points and four steals. The contest was Dorsette's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rem Frasher, who posted 14 points.
Meanwhile, Riverside-Durham strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 56-48 victory over Sanderson. While the Pirates didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Riverside-Durham's win came from a few key players Durham Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Darryn Johnson, who earned 14 points. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Robert Mcdonald was another key player, putting up 14 points and five boards.
Riverside-Durham's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Durham Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Durham Academy has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Riverside-Durham struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
