Volleyball Recap: Brighton's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of four wins, Brighton's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels. The match marked the first time this season in which the Cardinals were not able to get on the board.

Briley Bennett paced Brighton's offense, picking up eight kills. Bennett got some help from Greta Garrett and her 14 assists. Kaitlyn Chapman controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Kaitlynn Crull, who had nine digs and five aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Brighton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Brighton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against St. Benedict at Auburndale on the 23rd. As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Rossville Christian Academy on the 23rd.
