Basketball Recap: Axtell Takes a Loss

Axtell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 45-37 to the Loomis Wolves. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Loomis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Perry led the charge by putting up 11 points and five steals. Perry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Schemper, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Axtell's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Loomis, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-17.

Coming up, Axtell will square off against Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Loomis, they and Pleasanton will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
