League recap: Shelley extends winning streak with victory over Teton

3A Mountain Rivers recap Oct. 17, 2012

Shelley extended the longest winning streak in 3A Mountain Rivers this week by beating Teton, 51-6. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.

South Fremont's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Junior Gonzalez has thrown for 771 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Jason Maupin has 17 catches for 319 yards. Zach Trost leads the league in rushing with 246 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Shelley takes on Sugar-Salem. As it stands, Travis Hobson's team is in first, while the Diggers are in third.

The Redskins made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,852 from 5,421. The improvement was the result of 51-6 victory over Teton last week.
