The Bay Path RVT Minutemen will face off against the Douglas Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Bay Path RVT is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Friday just wasn't the day for Bay Path RVT's offense. They came up short against Uxbridge on Friday, falling 11-0. The loss continues a trend for the Minutemen in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Douglas can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game last Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over Sutton. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Parker Vincent, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Douglas' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 0-6 when he doesn't). Colbey Begin was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Douglas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bay Path RVT's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Douglas, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

Douglas' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bay Path RVT has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Douglas, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Bay Path RVT's sizable advantage in that area, the Tigers will need to find a way to close that gap.
