Basketball Game Preview: Rock Canyon Jaguars vs. Highlands Ranch Falcons

Rock Canyon has gone 8-2 against Highlands Ranch recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rock Canyon Jaguars will look to defend their home court against the Highlands Ranch Falcons at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Rock Canyon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matchups.

Rock Canyon is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 81-53 win over Legend. The victory continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won nine in a row.

Rock Canyon found their leader in sophomore Jacob David, who went 10-for-18 on his way to 24 points and six rebounds. David's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Ellwood, who went 7-for-8 to rack up 15 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Highlands Ranch, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 51-42 win over Fort Collins on Tuesday.

Rock Canyon better keep an eye on George West III. He was instrumental in Highlands Ranch's win, going 6-for-9 en route to 15 points. They are undefeated when West III posts 15 or more points, but 5-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zane El-Bassuni, who posted six points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Highlands Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Rock Canyon, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Rock Canyon skirted past Highlands Ranch 67-64 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Rock Canyon repeat their success, or does Highlands Ranch have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
