Volleyball Game Preview: Monte Vista Monarchs vs. La Jolla Vikings

The Monte Vista Monarchs will challenge the La Jolla Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. La Jolla took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Monte Vista, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Monte Vista got the win against Valhalla by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Monarchs.

Monte Vista was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-12, 25-21.

Meanwhile, La Jolla didn't have quite enough to beat St. Augustine on Monday and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Saints: they've now lost four in a row.

La Jolla took St. Augustine into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-7, 25-23, 19-25, 15-13.

Monte Vista pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for La Jolla, their loss dropped their record down to 13-17.
