The Lejeune Devil Pups will face off against the Wilmington Christian Academy Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Lejeune is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Lejeune came up short against Southwest Onslow and fell 6-2. The Devil Pups have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Molly McSorley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lejeune saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Taylor, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wilmington Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 21-6 margin over New Life Christian Academy.

Amelia Naylor was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Naylor was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Lily Marella was a standout: she fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4. Peyton Hedge was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while going 4-for-5.

Lejeune's loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
