It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eunice can now relate to. They came up short against the Raton Tigers on Wednesday, falling 28-16. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-8 back in March.
Peyton Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Pierce, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
This is the second loss in a row for Eunice and nudges their season record down to 14-14. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Raton, they pushed their record up to 16-12 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
Eunice does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Raton, they will take on Loving at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
