Softball Game Preview: Wilson Lakemen vs. Royalton-Hartland Rams

Wilson and Royalton-Hartland are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Lakemen will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Rams at 4:45 p.m. Wilson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.7 runs per game this season.

Wilson took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Medina as they made off with a 17-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lakemen in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won nine in a row.

Ava Mielke was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Lucy Madan was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Wilson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Royalton-Hartland hadn't beaten Barker on the road since May 13, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted against the Bulldogs since May 10, 2022.

Wilson's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Royalton-Hartland, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Everything went Wilson's way against Royalton-Hartland when the teams last played back in March, as Wilson made off with a 15-8 victory. Do the Lakemen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
