Basketball Recap: Goodwin Tech Takes a Loss

Goodwin Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 41-31 to the Cheney Tech Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gladiators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-20 back in January.

Cheney Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella Moskites led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 15 boards. Moskites is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Trinity Hazel, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 steals.

Goodwin Tech's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Cheney Tech, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goodwin Tech will venture away from home to square off against Grasso Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cheney Tech, they will head out to face off against Grasso RVT at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
