Basketball Game Preview: Anderson Cubs vs. Gridley Bulldogs + How To Watch

The Anderson Cubs will take on the Gridley Bulldogs in a tournament on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Anderson had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Paradise by a score of 43-34.

Anderson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jagger Johnson, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and five steals. Those five steals gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elias Whitehead, who earned ten points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Gridley took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-43 victory over Bear River. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won three in a row.

Anderson was dealt a bruising 63-35 defeat at the hands of Gridley in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Thankfully for the Cubs, Aaron Kullar (who shot 4-for-7 from long range and almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards) won't be suiting up this time.
