Softball Recap: Inchelium Picks Up 15th Straight Win on the Road

Inchelium entered their tilt with Lake Roosevelt on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 14-9 win over the Raiders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-7 on Wednesday.

Violet Carson and Isabella Finley did most of the damage at the plate: Carson went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Finley went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Keirdan McLaughlin was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Inchelium kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive matches.

Inchelium's victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Lake Roosevelt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Inchelium will head out to square off against Wellpinit at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hornets are facing the Redskins at the right time seeing as the Redskins are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Lake Roosevelt, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bridgeport at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.22 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
