Softball Recap: Sentinel Gets the Win

Sentinel extended their postseason success on Thursday against Butte. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Bulldogs. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

McKenna Strab made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched eight innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Haley Sellers, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Nina Samoury was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI.

Sentinel lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They are 6-3 when they post two or more home runs.

Sentinel's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Butte, they dropped their record down to 7-15 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Sentinel didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against Belgrade on the 22nd. Butte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
