League recap: Escambia scores huge upset over Tate

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tate, who took down 390th ranked Tate, 45-0.

Rashaad Lee of Pine Forest ran for the longest rushing play in 6A District 1 this season against Pace last week. Lee ran for 85 yards on the play and finished with 187 on the day as his team fell to the Patriots.

Brice Moore put up the best numbers through the air as Pace beat Pine Forest. He had a total of four completions for 36 yards. Moore's favorite target this week was Kalvin Peterson, who caught two passes for 22 yards.

Terrance Sims was the best wideout in the league this week as Jerry Pollard's team fell to Mickey Lindsey's team. Sims tallied one reception for 22 yards.

Washington's Clay Hinton and Michael Thomas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hinton has thrown for 375 yards this season, while Thomas, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has eight catches for 132 yards. The Patriots' J.c. Curry leads the league in rushing yards with 420.

A big matchup in 6A District 1 this week will be when the Wildcats take on Pace. As it stands, Washington is in fifth, while the Patriots are in first.

Escambia was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in the league. The Gators beat the Aggies 45-0 earlier in the week.
