After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clairemont, Olympian was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Ramona Bulldogs. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Alexandra Perez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jacqui De Murguia was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Anabelle Crabb also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Olympian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ramona only posted a batting average of .276.
Olympian's victory bumped their record up to 3-8-1. As for Ramona, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11-1.
Looking ahead, Olympian will square off against Coronado at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ramona, they will face off against El Cajon Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
