It was a good run, but Devine unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Floresville Tigers/Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers/Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-14, 24-26, 25-20.

Emma Mciver paced Devine's offense, picking up 13 kills. Mciver got some help from Kynedie Cruz and her 17 assists. Cruz was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Devine's loss dropped their record down to 19-16. As for Floresville, they pushed their record up to 26-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Devine is set to face off against their familiar foe Uvalde at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Floresville will square off against rival Somerset at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
