Jonesboro's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Mt. Zion Bulldogs 21-3. That's more bragging rights for the Cardinals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brianna Mason and Ariel Littlejohn did most of the damage at the plate: Mason got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs, while Littlejohn went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Mason has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Serenity Brown, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Jonesboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .818. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Zion only posted an OBP of .467.

The victory got Jonesboro back to even at 1-1. As for Mt. Zion, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Jonesboro and Mt. Zion will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cardinals will challenge rival Harris County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mt. Zion is set to take on their familiar foe North Clayton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
