Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Fort Worth Country Day's offense. They lost 6-0 to Liberty Christian on Friday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Fort Worth Country Day saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caroline Knutson, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Knutson hit this season.

Fort Worth Country Day's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 13.2 hits in those games compared to only five in the others. As for Dallas HSAA Red, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
