Softball Game Preview: Greater Nanticoke Area Trojans vs. Wyoming Area Warriors

The Greater Nanticoke Area Trojans will face off against the Wyoming Area Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Greater Nanticoke Area fell victim to Lake-Lehman and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 21-0 to the Knights. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Trojans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Wyoming Area came up short against Pittston on Sunday, falling 16-6. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost six in a row.

Wyoming Area saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Gasek, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Marissa Giardina was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Greater Nanticoke Area dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Wyoming Area, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
