Recap: Breckenridge Buckaroos vs. Eastland Mavericks
The Breckenridge Buckaroos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a rough 77-56 loss at the hands of Eastland. While losing is never fun, Breckenridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 784th, while Eastland is ranked 164th).
Despite the defeat, Breckenridge saw an underclassman step up: Kaysi Wilcox scored 22 points along with five assists and five steals. Another player making a difference was Destiny Jamison, who scored ten points.
Breckenridge's defeat dropped their record down to 8-23. As for Eastland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.
Breckenridge will be playing at home against Dublin at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Dublin is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Eastland, they will head out on the road to face off against Comanche at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
