Trinity Christian Academy suffers fifth straight loss at home

The Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by Tocoi Creek at home and fell 42-8. Trinity Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Tocoi Creek was led to victory by Audrey Beyer and Gabi Iturralde. Beyer scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Iturralde scored 16 points along with six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Iturralde has scored at least 25% of Tocoi Creek's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Valcin, who scored three points along with six rebounds.

Trinity Christian Academy's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-9. As for Tocoi Creek, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on University Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. University Christian's defense has only allowed 25.5 points per game this season, so Trinity Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for Trinity Christian Academy. Tocoi Creek will be home for the holidays to greet Matanzas at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Matanzas will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 528th, while Tocoi Creek is ranked 82nd).
