Baseball Game Preview: Webb City Cardinals vs. Kickapoo Chiefs

Webb City hasn't had much luck against Kickapoo recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cardinals will challenge the Chiefs at 4:30 p.m. Webb City is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Webb City is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since April 11, 2024 on Tuesday. They never let Glendale get on the board and left with a 1-0 win.

Neosho typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Kickapoo proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Wildcats 14-5. The Chiefs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kickapoo is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Webb City, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Webb City couldn't quite finish off Kickapoo in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 and fell 2-0. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
