Preview: Creekside Seminoles vs. Villa Rica Wildcats
The Creekside Seminoles will head out on the road to face off against the Villa Rica Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Creekside is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Creekside, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-54 loss to Chapel Hill. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Creekside in their matchups with Chapel Hill: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Villa Rica's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mays. While losing is never fun, Villa Rica can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Mays is ranked 67th).
Creekside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Villa Rica, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.
Creekside lost to Villa Rica on the road by a decisive 70-55 margin in their previous meeting last Friday. Can Creekside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
