Soccer Game Preview: West Stanly vs. Community School of Davidson

The West Stanly Colts will head out on the road to face off against the Community School of Davidson Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Stanly will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

West Stanly proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Trinity 1-0. Give West Stanly's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Community School of Davidson unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Christ the King by a score of 4-3. Kendall Hammett was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on her (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Lia Puma and Eliana Puma scored all three of Community School of Davidson's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Community School of Davidson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for West Stanly, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
