Basketball Recap: Millwood's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Millwood entered their tilt with The New Community School on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Everything went their way against The New Community School Sabers as they made off with a 53-32 victory. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Millwood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Griffin Aktalay out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. Aktalay's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hanrahan, who posted 15 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Millwood now has a winning record of 5-4. As for The New Community School, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Millwood will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on James River HomeSchool at 6:45 p.m. on February 18th. The New Community School has already played their next match (against Fuqua), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
