Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for North Stokes

North Stokes entered their tilt with Bishop McGuinness on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Villains with a sharp 11-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won three matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Elijah Whicker made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Michael Frye was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. He has become a key player for North Stokes: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise.

North Stokes kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

North Stokes pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop McGuinness, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

North Stokes has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Elkin on the 11th. As for Bishop McGuinness, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 22-7 win against Atkins on the 11th.
