Basketball Game Preview: Millington Central Trojans vs. Bolton Wildcats

The Millington Central Trojans will take on the Bolton Wildcats in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Millington Central took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 30-29 photo finish over Tipton-Rosemark Academy. The 30-point effort marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Millington Central's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cody McGhee, who posted ten points and three steals, and Marlow Bean, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bolton). They put the hurt on Craigmont with a sharp 101-81 win on Friday.

Bolton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.0 points per game. As for Millington Central, they moved to 5-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Millington Central beat Bolton 82-74 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Does Millington Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bolton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
