Basketball Recap: Memorial Beats Edison for Their Third Straight Victory

Memorial won against Muskogee last Thursday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Memorial Chargers enjoyed a cozy 61-46 win over the Edison Eagles. The victory was nothing new for the Chargers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Antonio Love, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 23 points. Those 23 points gave Love a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jalil Cotton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Edison, they moved to 7-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Memorial and Edison could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. Memorial will challenge Cascia Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday down 41 places (47 vs. 6). Similarly, Edison (ranked 151st) will meet Memorial (ranked 47th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
