Recap: Leonard Lancers vs. Boynton Beach Tigers
The Leonard Lancers lost against the Boynton Beach Tigers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Leonard had to suffer through a rough 54-19 loss at the hands of Boynton Beach. Leonard was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-6.
Boynton Beach's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rebeca Jean , who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was Jean 's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ti'esha Davis, who scored 13 points along with nine assists.
Leonard's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-1. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.5 points per game. As for Boynton Beach, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leonard will take on Lake Worth at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Boynton Beach, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glades Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glades Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 504th, while Boynton Beach is ranked 209th).
