Basketball Game Preview: Mayde Creek Rams vs. Seven Lakes Spartans

Mayde Creek hasn't had much luck against Seven Lakes recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mayde Creek Rams will welcome the Seven Lakes Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Mayde Creek came up short against Cinco Ranch and fell 70-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Rams still had to take the loss.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Daryus Tasby, who went 8 of 11 en route to 20 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Edwin Cleveland, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points.

Meanwhile, Seven Lakes waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 60-51. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Falcons are ranked 365th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mayde Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Seven Lakes, they pushed their record up to 27-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
