Softball Recap: Culver Community Extends Winning Streak to Four

Culver Community put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the LaVille Lancers with a sharp 20-5 win. Considering the Cavaliers have won three matches by more than 11 runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Aiden Molebash made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Culver Community got a massive performance out of Abigayle Zehner, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Zehner is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Kalli England was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Culver Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .565. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as LaVille only posted a batting average of .250.

Culver Community's record now sits at 4-0. As for LaVille, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Culver Community wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-2 loss against Plymouth on the 14th. As for LaVille, they have also already played their next game, a 27-9 victory against Marquette Catholic on the 16th.
