Baseball Preview: Dekaney Wildcats vs. Eisenhower Eagles
The Dekaney Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Eisenhower Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dekaney is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Dekaney came up short against Benjamin Davis and fell 9-5. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Michael Hayes and Adrian Martinez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hayes scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Martinez got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Anthony Cruz, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Even though they lost, Dekaney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. This was only their first loss (out of ten games) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
