Sequatchie County had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Tyner Academy on Friday. The Indians put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Lyla Houk made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Houk was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Jaci Smith was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
