Basketball Recap: Babylon Extends Home Winning Streak to 17

Babylon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Southold/Greenport Settlers as they made off with a 46-24 win. The Panthers pushed the score to 37-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Settlers cut but never quite recovered from.

Babylon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Giavanna Randazzo led the charge by putting up nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Logue - Boyd, who posted 11 points.

Babylon pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Southold/Greenport, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Babylon and Southold/Greenport will both be playing Southampton the next time they take the court. Southold/Greenport will host Southampton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Babylon will head out to face them at 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday.
