Softball Recap: Collinsville Comes Up Short

Collinsville came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-1 to the Whitewright Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Collinsville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tessa Vannoy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Collinsville's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Whitewright, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collinsville will face off against Tioga at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Whitewright, they will take on Tom Bean at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
