Basketball Game Preview: Galileo Lions vs. Lincoln Mustangs

Galileo is 1-9 against Lincoln since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Lions will welcome the Mustangs at 1:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, Galileo was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-56 to Washington.

Meanwhile, Lincoln strolled past Balboa with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 65-48. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 878th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lincoln's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points over those games. As for Galileo, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.

Galileo was able to grind out a solid win over Lincoln in their previous matchup on Tuesday, winning 58-49. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
