Volleyball Game Preview: Pine Crest Panthers vs. Highlands Christian Knights

The Pine Crest Panthers will face off against the Highlands Christian Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Crest will be strutting in after a victory while Highlands Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Pine Crest took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Chaminade-Madonna 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Pine Crest took Chaminade-Madonna into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-22, 23-25, 23-25, 16-14.

Guillermo Ariza had an outrageously good game as he had 17 digs and four aces. That's the most digs he has posted since back in March. Alex Schiller also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Meanwhile, Highlands Christian came up short against North Broward Prep on Monday and fell 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-15, 25-20.

Pine Crest's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Highlands Christian, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Pine Crest took their win against Highlands Christian in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
