Clayton and Cleveland are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. The Comets will head out to take on the Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Clayton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.5 goals per game this season.

Clayton is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Garner just ended the team's ten-match winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-2. Chris Serrano was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

He and Ethan Hancock-Arroyo scored both of Clayton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 30 goals.

Meanwhile, Cleveland's game on Monday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Smithfield-Selma.

Cleveland's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Clayton, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 15-3-1.

Clayton beat Cleveland by a goal in their previous meeting on October 6th, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
